Tenet Three

Song People live in God’s Romance.

Jesus is a romantic. He’s completely enamored by you. Those living the Song Lifestyle have accepted and embraced the fact that God chose us from the beginning to be the Bride of Christ.

Revelation 21:2-3 describes the Bride of Christ perfectly and how God relates to Her.

 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them.They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God (NIV).

The new Jerusalem is not a city. It’s the Bride! Scripture makes it clear that God’s dwelling place is with the people, the Bride.

God is madly in love with His creation! You are His creation. You are the object of the King’s desire.

Song of Songs 2:10 in The Message shows God calling us His “fair and beautiful lover.” In fact, the whole of verses 10-14 in chapter 2 is laced with romantic language.

Get up, my dear friend,
    fair and beautiful lover—come to me!
Look around you: Winter is over;
    the winter rains are over, gone!
Spring flowers are in blossom all over.
    The whole world’s a choir—and singing!
Spring warblers are filling the forest
    with sweet arpeggios.
Lilacs are exuberantly purple and perfumed,
    and cherry trees fragrant with blossoms.
Oh, get up, dear friend,
    my fair and beautiful lover—come to me!
Come, my shy and modest dove—
    leave your seclusion, come out in the open.
Let me see your face,
    let me hear your voice.
For your voice is soothing
    and your face is ravishing.

Just look at what the king says in those few verses! The Shulamite back in chapter 1 had asked the King to come to her and take her into His cloud-filled chamber (Passion Translation). Now He’s responding with the most romantic and intimate language that is meant for us TODAY. God is calling us to an intimate and romantic relationship with Him. We are His dove!

Bask in His Romantic Embrace

We get to enjoy the Lover. It’s part of our inheritance. Enjoying God’s intimate embrace, living in the shining light of His glory, and living an in love life with Him, these are all part of what Song People get to do. It’s exciting! We live in supernatural relationship with Mr. Romantic! We soak in His love and are transformed by His goodness. God is the kindest person I’ve ever met.

Song People bask in the romantic embrace of Jesus and enjoy every second of it. There is nothing that can separate us from His love (Romans 8:38-39). Song People rest continually knowing that there is nothing that separates them from God’s love. They live in the Divine Embrace and nothing shakes them. No matter what comes along the Song Person is convinced, absolutely convinced, that God is good and kind and in love. When there is trouble, there is always a solution alongside it that’s been placed there by God. The solution is always good because God is always good.

Soak in His goodness. Drown yourself in His romance. You are His dove, His Bride. This Song Lifestyle is for everyone, and it’s the most exciting life ever! This Love is so big and so intimate and so supernatural…you’ll never regret living it.
